Description

Macramé is the art of tying knots in rope or cord to make a design. The list of things that can be made from macramé includes: belts, wall hangings, room dividers, purses, lampshades, jewelry, dresses, vests, etc. In this introductory course the student learns basic skills such as how much cord is needed to make a piece of macramé, how to tie different kinds of knots to make pleasing designs, and how to incorporate items such as beads, buttons, pine cones and feathers into the design. Hand-drawn illustrations accompany the step-by-step instructions.
